Fresh Off the Boat
by Melissa dela Cruz
A Filipino family adjusts to life in the U.S. While the Arambullo family enjoyed a life of luxury and relative wealth in the Philippines, they are struggling to make ends meet in San Francisco. Vicenza, the teenage daughter, has a hard time fitting in the all-girls’ school populated with rich girls.
The book reads like a Sweet Dreams book (I am dating myself here!) but with a Pinoy twist. I found myself chuckling at some parts esp the Pinoy peculiarities.
Easy, light reading.
