Herederos (The Heirs)
That’s being said in jest.
MIL has been moving her stuff out to her fiance’s. I went downstairs one morning and she was just about to leave with a box in tow. I kidded her about coming down one morning with the building empty and crickets singing. LOL!
Anyways, she has pretty much gone over the things she wanted to keep and those she wanted to let go. Other than the major appliances and the built-in (humungous) china cabinet, everything can go. So far BIL #2 has taken MIL’s huge four-poster bed and an older (maybe even antique) table. I’m getting a loveseat and a table with drawers and cross-legs. Then yesterday, as MIL was clearing out the china cabinet, she gave the dinnerware set to me. Woohoo!!! It’s an almost complete set for 12 people. Now I don’t have to worry place settings for when we have company over.
Hubby and I have grudgingly started boxing stuff up…lotsa lotsa junk! And we even have more in the basement that are still boxed from when we moved back in the building 2 years ago. I guess those can go when we have a garage sale next year. If I haven’t missed them in 2 years then I must not have needed them.
Ozzie goes with MIL as soon as she has the invisible fence installed. I get to keep Fluffy the cat. Poor kitty, she ran out of her IAMS cat food and was quite indignant when someone put a different brand of cat food in her bowl. She refused to eat it! I don’t blame her. We give her the hairball control kind and if she eats something else…well, you can deduce what happens. I did finally get a bag of her food and she must have been so hungry ’cause she couldn’t wait to wolf it down.
It has been raining steadily the past 2-3 days which was a pain for hubby ’cause they’re doing roof work. Today still looks dreary but no raindrops yet. Can’t complain though because the rain brought new life to the plants.
