Happy 8th!
My little man turned 8 yesterday! His Lola is in town especially for his b-day. I took the rest of the week off (Monday was Lundi Gras and Tuesday was Mardi Gras) and T has this whole week off (Mardi Gras break) so we’ve been fairly busy.
We started off with a special birthday breakfast at The Old Coffee Pot on St. Peter St. in the French Quarter. Ms. Cheryl, one of the ladies that work there, sang T a b-day song (twice actually), gave him a huge hug and a slice of the most decadent and delicious chocolate cake we have ever tasted. She even put a candle on it.
Afterwards we checked out some FQ shops and walked along the riverfront, stopped at several other shops in a neighboring parish and went home to rest.
I forgot to mention, we’re down to one vehicle at this time because hubby got into an accident a few days earlier when someone ran a red light. Another story.
So that afternoon while Lola and apo were taking a nap, I picked up MH from work and drove to Best Buy to get T’s long-wished-for Wii. They were both on the patio swing when we drove up. When T saw the Wii in the plastic shopping bag, he screamed, “Wiiiii!!!!” He was laughing and crying at the same time. What a sight! I think it is safe to say this was the most memorable birthday for him.
