Family Post

Hubby came home a little earlier than usual so we could go to Fedex to drop off a couple of packages. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to offer T a paper airplane which he thought was “so cool!”

On the way I asked MH if he liked the idea of sandwiches for dinner. He approved so then I said how about Quiznos? Hehehe, we had to drive all the way to the other side of town but let me tell you their Steakhouse Beef Dip is worth it.

Before going home we stopped by Polly’s to pick up a bottle of wine to give to MIL for her bday. I was looking for a Fat Bastard (yeah, that’s the brand) which was her current favorite. But since they didn’t have it, I ended up getting a Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio which she declared was a very good one nonetheless. We also wrote her a check for her campaign. That made her happy. N8 had earlier given her a bottle of Zinfandel and JH a bunch of flowers.

When we finally got home, we found Em in one of her rare good moods.

Em: Guess what?
Moi: Chicken butt
Em: I have a boyfriend!
Moi: Oh really!? What’s his name? Is he in your class?
Em: His name’s D and he’s in my class.
Moi: How old is he?
Em: Twelve.
Moi: Aha! You cradlesnatcher!
Em: What’s that?
Moi: It’s when you go for someone younger than you. I’m just teasing.
Em: He’s going to be 13 soon. And we’re going out to the movies on Friday. With other friends, of course.
Moi: Sounds very nice. What are you watching?
Em: Hmmm…we don’t know yet. We have to talk about that.

A few minutes later, we found her on the phone giggling. We assume it’s the boyfriend.

MIL told me that Em learned that the boy liked her. Well, she liked him back so she wrote him a note asking him if he’d like to go out with her and be her boyfriend “without doing the mushy stuff.” A disclaimer already. LOL! Ah, to be young and in like.

  1. yup, that quiznos steakhouse sandwich is a winner.

    Em is so funny :)

  2. Awww to be young indeed. Pero teka, when I was 13 I wasn’t thinking of those sort of things yet! Grabe, iba talaga mga bata in this age and country :)

  3. Deej, we tried making our own steakhouse sandwich but didn’t come out tasting even close. Kaya we make a trip every now and again to satisfy our cravings.

Mai, sinabi mo! When I was 13 my first concern was how to get out of babysitting my sister :D.

Got something to say?
